| Who is Helle? | |
| Since 1932, Helle has enjoyed a reputation as the cream of Norwegian handicrafts. Helle designs their knives to withstand any challenge provided by the great outdoors. The blades are created using triple laminated stainless steel, making them almost impossible to break and keeping them sharp much longer. Helle's focus is on quality and craftsmanship in production. At the the plant in Holmedal, Norway it takes up to 45 different manual procedures to complete a single knife. Each knife is made to last a lifetime, to last as long as the memories you take home from your trips into the great outdoors. | |
The differences
between a Helle knife and other knives are many. The biggest
difference lies in the triple laminated stainless steel blade. The
core is made of high alloy steel which gives it a lasting,
razor-sharp edge. This harder layer cannot however exclude the
threat of rust or breakage.
To exploit the superb qualities of the high alloy steel Helle added two layers of tough stainless steel(18/8) to protect the blade against breakage and corrosion, while the high carbon core (58-59 on the Rockwell scale) still provides a superb cutting edge. This triple laminated stainless steel is unique to Helle's knife blades. The steel Helle uses is more expensive than in most other knife brands, but that is all a part of Helle's philosophy of never compromising on quality.
